Working group: education

Introduction

Our Fellowship programmes are guided by Working Groups of subject specialists. They are led by members of our Advisory Council and supported by Fellows, and partner organisations. The Advisory Council identifies a topical issue around which to focus a programme of Fellowships, and its delivery and promotion is supported by Fellows and partner organisations. Members are available to help Fellows in that programme with advice and networking.

Our Education Working Group supports our current programme focused on 'Supporting engagement in education - enabling all students to thrive'.

Working group member

Neil Arora

Neil Arora formerly managed partnerships for a UK education charity, focusing on narrowing the educational disadvantage gap. Previously, he taught business studies in secondary school. His Fellowship explores using equality, empowerment, and scaffolded play to address this gap. Inspired by Estonia's emphasis on play over early testing and Armenia's integration of chess in education, he seeks to understand and apply these models. His own experience, learning chess at 17 and overcoming a belief in his academic limitations, fuels his belief in the power of play for empowerment and growth. His goal is to glean insights from his Fellowship to help mitigate educational disadvantages.
