Once you've completed your overseas learning, we ask you to create a report. This is your tool for communicating your learning to your chosen audience. It can be in any format – for example, a website, podcast, video documentary, written publication, PowerPoint presentation – whatever works best for your communication style and target audience. We know it can be daunting to pull all your learning together into a single output, so we hope the following might help you through the process:

• Report guidance: Our guidance provides an overview and top tips for approaching the report process from start to finish.
• Ideas Library: Explore our collection of Fellows’ reports across different topics for inspiration. If you’d like to see examples in different formats, please contact us.
• Report surgery: If you have any questions about how to approach your report, our Research and Engagement Managers are available to chat with you. They can offer guidance, act as a sounding board for your ideas or offer you an extension if you’re struggling to meet your report deadline. Book a call with them by emailing engagement@churchillfellowship.org.
• Copyediting process: Once you’ve submitted your first draft, we offer a free professional copyediting service. This is not compulsory, but many Fellows tell us that they appreciate receiving this independent feedback. The process is outlined in our Report Guidance.

Once your report has been published, you will be eligible to apply for our Post-research grant. More information on applying for this grant can be found in our Report Guidance and on our website. This grant offers you up to £500 to help you build on your Fellowship and take the next step to sharing or implementing your learning. This might include:

• Running a pilot programme
• Returning to visit specific projects/expanding on a previous visit
• Promoting Fellowship findings (including through the media or at conferences)
• Partnership development
• Network development
• Having your report professionally designed, produced or printed

Once you have submitted your report, you will receive an email with a link to the application form. You will have one year to apply for the grant after which point the opportunity will expire.

On becoming a Fellow, you join a vast network of 4,000 changemakers who are tackling problems all over the UK. This community provides a great opportunity to connect with others who are working in similar areas to you, for mutual learning and collective impact. There is strength in numbers! In addition, our community extends beyond the Fellows to our Advisory Council who are all experts in their field, and to our Partner organisations who can provide sector knowledge, networks and contacts. We offer a range of ways to connect with the wider Fellowship network, detailed below, as well as through our events (outlined in the next section).

• Mobilize: Our dedicated online platform, Mobilize, allows Fellows to connect, share updates, and stay informed. You can join discussions, share news, and collaborate with other Fellows in a supportive community. If you are not yet a member, please reach out to maram.tabidi@churchillfellowship.org, who will add you. We encourage you to sign up and start engaging with your fellow Churchill Fellows.
• Fellows Directory: You can search for Fellows by theme on our website. If you come across a Fellow you’d like to contact then have a look at their profile page to see if they have a “Contact this Fellow” form. If not, please get in touch with us and we can connect you.
• Advisory Council: Our grant-making is guided by a Council of leading specialists in their fields, including a number of Fellows. They are on hand to help with advice and networking. Please contact us if you’d like to be connected with an Advisory Council member.
• Working Groups: Each of our programmes has an affiliated Working Group of subject specialists. They are led by members of our Advisory Council and supported by Fellows, and partner organisations. Members are available to help Fellows in that programme with advice and networking. Get in touch with us to be connected to members of your programme Working Group.
• Partners: A number of our programmes are supported by partner organisations which bring funding, expertise or influence to our work. In particular, our Knowledge Partners can offer a range of support including advice, connections and promotion of your learning within the relevant sector. If you would like to be connected with any of our partners, please get in touch.

On becoming a Fellow, you will likely have attended our annual Connect and Inspire event, providing you with an opportunity to meet other Fellows awarded in the same year as you. In addition, we offer further opportunities for you to connect with your cohort as well as the wider Fellowship community.

• Convenings: We organise a range of convenings to support you as a Fellow, including programme cohort convenings, cross-thematic discussions, and practical workshops. These events provide valuable opportunities to connect with other Fellows, share insights, and enhance your skills. We encourage you to take part in these gatherings to foster collaboration and strengthen your network within the wider Fellowship community. • Award Ceremony: Held every two years, the Award Ceremony celebrates the achievements of Fellows who have completed their overseas learning phase and submitted their Fellowship report. During this special event, you will receive an engraved medallion bearing your name in recognition of your accomplishments. It’s a moment to reflect on your journey, acknowledge your dedication, and celebrate the impact you have made in the community as well as to meet other Fellows. Remember, this isn’t the end, but the start of your lifelong journey as a Churchill Fellow!

We have a number of Churchill Fellowship channels available for you to use to help promote your recommendations and learnings and raise awareness of your work.

• Blogs: every week we publish a blog from a Fellow on our website which is then sent out to the 3,000+ subscribers on our blog alert email. We’ll also promote the blog through our social channels. Do get in touch with us if you’d like to submit a blog – remember this can be at any stage of your Fellowship.
• Fellows’ Updates: please do send us information about what you have been up to, we can post this on our website and in our monthly newsletter.
• Promoting your Report: as well as publishing this on our website, the latest reports are listed in our monthly newsletter.
• Socials: do remember to tag us on X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook and/or Instagram when you are posting about your work so we can engage with it to help spread its reach.

We actively encourage Fellows to leverage their expertise by engaging with their sector or community. Our Research and Engagement Managers (REMs) are eager to discuss your ideas for sector engagement and can assist you in connecting with relevant individuals through our networks, partner organisations, and Advisory Council members.

Other ways we support Fellows include:

• Sign up to your relevant sector newsletter: Stay informed with our quarterly sector newsletters, featuring recent reports, blogs, insights, news from Fellows, and upcoming opportunities and events. Sign up to your relevant sector newsletter.
• Contact our REMs: REMs can help you connect with specific contacts via the Fellowship network and offer support with dissemination of your work.
• Discounted membership of the RSA: As a Fellow, you can enjoy discounted membership of the RSA, providing access to a wider network.
• Join our sector-related events and convenings: Participate in events and convenings tailored to your sector, offering opportunities to collaborate with peers, share insights, and engage with experts and key stakeholders.

We are really keen to see you get the best support possible and, as well as the help we can directly offer, there are lots of other fantastic organisations who you can work with.
