Aviva Community Fund

The Aviva Community Fund supports projects that are fighting climate change and building stronger, more resilient communities across the UK and are investing in two key areas:

• Climate Action: Promoting healthy, thriving communities by preventing, preparing for and protecting against the impacts of climate change
• Financial Wellbeing: Helping people take control of their wellbeing by giving them the tools to be more financially independent and ready for anything

The fund offers match funding (2:1) to individual donations made to a project of up to £250 per donation and £50,000 per organisation.

Friends Provident Foundation

Charities, social enterprises, and private companies can apply for funding from the Friends Provident Foundation's 4D Economy Grants to support projects and activities that promote fairness and sustainability in the economy. The grants focus on four key areas: diversification, decarbonisation, democratisation, and decentralisation. Main grants of up to £200,000 are available for projects or core funding and applications can be made at any time, with decisions within 3-6 months. Small grants of up to £10,000 are also available to new and emergent organsiations, specific projects wishing to test an idea and projects bringing forward current marginalised voices in the economy, with decisions made within 6 weeks.

Matthew Good Foundation

Grants for good supports small organisations, voluntary groups or social enterprises that are making a big impact on communities, people or the environment; have an average income of less than £50,000 in the last 12 months and have a bank account in the organisation's name. Every quarter five shortlisted projects will share £15,000 in unrestricted funds for any of their organisation's costs.

Open Wing Trust

The purpose of Open Wing Trust is to enable the enablers. The trust offers financial and other support to individuals who are in a process of inner change and who are changing the focus of their work towards working with others in need. The trust expects to fund up to three small one-off grants a year, with an individual maximum of £2,000. Applications are invited from individuals over 18 living in England and Wales. No grants will be given to organisations or for project costs. Applications made on behalf of others will not be accepted, except when there is an obvious reason.

Deadline: rolling. The next deadline for applications is 1 March 2024.

Shackleton Foundation

The Shackleton Foundation invests in inspirational leaders and early-stage social enterprises with the potential to make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people. They provide up to £10,000 of seed funding and support to enable aspiring leaders and social entrepreneurs to establish their own ventures to help young people in challenging circumstances.

Deadline: there are 4 funding rounds a year. The deadlines for 2024 are as follows: 29th January, 29th April, 29th July, 4th November.

UnLtd

Unltd have opened a new round of grants plus business support for social entrepreneurs who are looking to start or grow an existing social venture. Grants are being made available through two funding streams:

• Grants of up to £18,000 to grow an existing social enterprise that has been operating between 1 and 4 years.
• Grants of up to £8,000 for social businesses not yet established or been running under a year.

UnLtd are committed to providing 50% of their awards to Black, Asian and minority ethnic social entrepreneurs, and/or disabled social entrepreneurs.

To be eligible applicants need to be: Aged 16 and over, living in the United Kingdom, willing to participate in a learning experience, working to benefit people living in the United Kingdom.

Deadline: Quarterly: 31 March, 30 June, 30 September, 30 December.
