Biography
UK Government procurement spend is significant and so too is the opportunity to use procurement policy to aid in reaching net zero. The time to act is now and global good practice is currently not well-known. As climate change is a global issue, it requires global learning.
A chartered procurement professional with over a decade of experience in both public sector and private organisations, I have long been passionate about how procurement can be used as an enabler for innovation and in helping to reach net zero. I aim to positively influence industry and UK governmental policy regarding the role procurement can play in achieving net zero, expediting the adoption and recognition of identified world-leading practices. I also aim to normalise net zero considerations within the procurement process while significantly expanding understanding and awareness.
This project will bring additional knowledge and understanding in the areas of green budgeting, life-cycle assessments, emissions reduction and incentivisation models, and training of procurement professionals in green procurement.
