Biography
I am a Specialist Pharmacy Regulation Manager at the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and an NHS Deputy Chief Pharmacist. I hold a master's degree, an independent prescribing qualification and an FMLM clinical fellowship in leadership and management. I am an experienced senior pharmacist who has a broad range of pharmacy experience from previous leadership roles.
The main topic of my Fellowship is the role of community pharmacies as healthcare hubs in local communities in the USA and Canada. I will focus on the role of community pharmacies as healthcare anchor institutions in local communities. Pharmacies are often located in the heart of communities and can be a source of public health, lifestyle, healthy living, long-term condition management and prevention advice to their local populations.
My Fellowship will explore the services that community pharmacies provide to their local communities in the USA and Canada and the relevant policy, funding, regulatory and legislative drivers that support community pharmacy service delivery in each country. I intend to share my work with UK pharmacy leadership bodies.
