I have spent over a decade working on issues of social justice, human rights, and public policy. Most recently I launched legal action against Facebook in response to the Cambridge Analytica scandal: I am the lead representative in the class action Carpio vs Facebook. In 2017 I was listed on Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe for my work.
Between 2016 and 2020 I founded and ran The Fourth Group, a global community of half a million people whose mission is to shape technology for all, leaving nobody behind. During this time, I initiated campaigns backed by people from over 160 different countries, building a movement to shape tech for the good of society.
In 2020 I initiated End the Virus of Racism, a community dedicated to addressing the spike in racism and the three-fold increase in hate crime towards people of East and South-east Asian heritage during the Covid-19 pandemic.
I have lectured at the University of Connecticut, delivered keynote speeches in the House of Lords and debated in Cambridge Union and Chatham House. I have also appeared on CNN, BBC, ITV, Television Espanola, AFP, Al Jazeera, Channel 4, the Law Society, TEDx and Web Summit.
