Biography
I am a GP working in the NHS and with Barnardo's, the UK's largest children's charity. I am also the Clinical Director for Children's Services in Brent, North West London. My Fellowship focuses on reducing childhood health inequalities. I will visit Canada and Indonesia to learn from innovative community-based approaches that improve outcomes for disadvantaged children by bringing healthcare closer to families and addressing the wider social factors that affect health.
Throughout my career, I have seen how poverty, housing, education and access to services can have a profound impact on a child's health and future opportunities. I am passionate about creating systems that work better for children and families, particularly those facing the greatest challenges.
I hope to identify practical, evidence-based approaches that can be adapted for the UK and help create more integrated, accessible and child-centred services. My dream is to contribute to a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.
