I am the Criminal Justice Lead to the Domestic Abuse Commissioner for England and Wales, where I provide strategic policy advice on how to drive improvements to the response to domestic abuse by criminal justice agencies. Prior to joining the Commissioner's Office, I worked as a legal researcher at the Bar following successful completion of the Bar Professional Training Course.
My Fellowship will explore how problem-solving courts are designed and used across different jurisdictions to respond to domestic abuse, thus combining my legal background and social policy experience. I plan to visit courts in the USA, Canada and Australia and speak to the agencies and services which form part of the court models to learn about the types of holistic interventions they use, how the agencies work together as part of the court model, how judicial interventions are used and any challenges they face in the use of these models. Through this research, I hope to understand how similar models can be implemented in England and Wales.
