Biography
Outside of my day-to-day role as a civic officer, I am a justice reform campaigner whose work is driven by lived experience of the UK's criminal legal system, including serving an Indeterminate Sentence for Public Protection (IPP). That experience has shaped my deep commitment to challenging a system that punishes without rehabilitating and to amplifying the voices of those most affected by it. Through campaigning on IPP sentences, I have built relationships with individuals, families, charities and parliamentarians, learning how to connect human stories with policy change.
My Fellowship takes me to Norway and New Zealand to study rehabilitation-focused prison models and Māori-led restorative justice initiatives. I want to bring back practical insights that can inspire reform, strengthen campaigns and help build a justice system that delivers both safety and dignity for all.
