Biography
I'm a Vision Fast guide and the founder of Men Up North, a Sheffield-based men’s wellbeing and nature connection charity with a Prime Minister's Points of Light Award. Additionally, as an executive coach, I support women leaders and teams from companies such as Google, Meta, and Amazon.
My Fellowship focuses on belonging for cross-cultural children, growing up between multiple identities, languages and cultures, often with no formal way to make sense of who they are. As the son of an immigrant, I grew up navigating that in-between space, and learning how to belong has been my embodied research for over 25 years.
I'm learning from world-leading programmes in the USA, Finland and Singapore that utilise nature and ceremony to help diverse young people and adults develop a grounded sense of self and community. My hope is that this becomes the foundation of a recognised, evidence-based practice that helps every cross-cultural young person in the UK feel they truly belong in both their cultures and the communities they call home. My ultimate aim is to influence policy so that a rite-of-passage experience for cross-cultural children is as common as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award in schools.
