Biography

I am an MSc student at King's College London. Alongside my studies, I volunteer with several charities, including OCD Action, where I help develop and deliver initiatives for people affected by OCD and related conditions, including body dysmorphic disorder (BDD).

Through my volunteer work, I regularly support people affected by BDD and have seen the profound impact the condition has on their lives.

My Fellowship focuses on improving help-seeking and access to support and treatment for people with BDD. I will explore approaches in other countries that promote earlier identification, reduce barriers to care, and improve treatment pathways.

BDD is a common but often hidden mental health condition associated with high levels of distress and increased risk of suicide. It can affect all areas of life, including work, education, and relationships. Despite its impact, BDD often goes unrecognised and untreated, with long delays before people receive appropriate treatment.

Through this Fellowship, I hope to identify practical and transferable approaches that can be adapted in the UK to improve understanding of BDD, strengthen support, and make it easier for people to access help.
