Biography
I am Head of Staff Development at Bohunt Horsham, which is a secondary school serving students aged 11-16. I have been involved in the training of teachers for the last 15 years and it is a highly rewarding aspect of my career. Spreading the love of teaching is a personal mission and I have been involved in research to help develop the right conditions for teachers for a long time. I also see on a daily basis the positive impact that good teaching and continuity of teachers can have on the most disadvantaged students.
Increasing my understanding of how teacher training works in Japan and Switzerland (countries that report high levels of wellbeing and efficacy) will mean that I can improve and share my own practice to a wider audience. I plan to share my findings using conferences, online platforms and teacher journals to have the biggest impact.
