Biography
As a police detective, I have seen first-hand the challenges of investigating some of the most serious and harmful crimes, often without access to technology that could help deliver a more effective, efficient and compassionate service to victims.
Alongside my frontline policing career, I have worked at the intersection of public safety and technology, with a focus on the adoption of responsible AI to drive transformation in criminal justice outcomes. Today, through my work at Voop, I am part of a new frontline of technology start-ups that are empowered to tackle some of the most important and complex public safety challenges of our time.
My Fellowship explores how AI is being governed and deployed across policing and criminal justice systems in the Netherlands, Canada and the USA. Through visits to law enforcement, policymakers, researchers and technology leaders, I aim to identify practical approaches that can support the responsible adoption of AI in UK policing. The objective of my Fellowship is to make the case for targeted technology adoption to improve outcomes for victims of sexual offences.
