Biography
I'm a disabled access consultant with three decades of lived and professional experience behind me. I'm going to the USA to discover how their National Parks welcome disabled visitors. I want to discover examples of best practice around accessibility and inclusive design and how the barriers to disabled people visiting the parks are being removed.
As a disabled person with three disabled children, I'm passionate about how we can make society a lot more inclusive. I'm a qualified access auditor and have lots of experience of conducting audits for different kinds of built and natural environments.
My ultimate goal is to share the learnings from my visits in the USA, with the aim of seeing if we can set up a National Centre for Accessibility to the Natural Environment in partnership with the Centre for Accessible Environments.
