Biography
I work in the not-for-profit sector to advance fair climate ambition. My focus has been on ensuring that climate policy is both ambitious and fair, centring the needs and perspectives of local communities.
Observing that climate policy can cause huge conflict when it translates into concrete changes in people's lives, and noticing that this was a factor fuelling the rise of undemocratic parties, I became interested in how to better accompany climate policy on the ground. In 2024, I trained as a mediator, to have more skills to address conflict as it arises around the social and ecological transition.
The focus of my Fellowship is in learning lessons from countries that have a history of using mediation to address environmental conflict. Specifically, I will focus my exploration on conflict around renewable energy and the role that mediation has played in supporting more peaceful development conditions.
