Biography
I am a senior consultant focused on equity. I am an educator, trainer, facilitator and therapeutic coach, with experience across many sectors focusing specifically on race, community engagement, cognitive dissonance, trauma and wellbeing.
My Fellowship looked at Caribbean leadership, education, collective trauma from slavery, and healing. I wanted a deeper understanding of the Caribbean social and historical contexts, the leaders and the impact of slavery on contemporary Black Britain. I was concerned about the marginalisation of Black British people failing in the education system. As a Windrush child, I arrived in London to a hostile environment and had to learn how to manage conflict and navigate white spaces. I struggled, not because of my academic ability but due to the weight of being an outsider and having no place in British society.
I work one-to-one and in groups, holding space for personal and systemic transformation, incorporating the individual's frame of reference and their world-view, applying a psychoanalytical approach that works with the repressed unconscious. I coach leaders in diversity, inclusion and race equity.
