Biography
I am a GP in Sussex. I have become increasingly interested in the role nature therapy can play in managing emotional dysregulation in adolescents, particularly those with ADHD.
I plan to visit Japan - the birthplace of Shinrin-Yoku or forest bathing - to learn about their public health programme and visit their national forest bathing trails. I am also planning to visit California, home of the giant sequoias, to shadow some established nature-based school sessions.
Over the year, I will train as a Forest Bathing guide in the UK. I then plan to set up nature therapy days for teenagers with ADHD in Sussex and incorporate this into schools and social prescribing programmes locally. I hope to partner with the university research department to obtain outcome data and share this on a wider scale in the health and wellbeing sectors.
