Biography
I am an associate solicitor, working across environmental and business and human rights issues. My Fellowship is focused on identifying the opportunities and challenges which may arise following the UK's withdrawal from the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), which has for many years protected fossil fuel investments by letting companies sue states if government policies - including progressive climate policies - impacted their profits.
This is a key and rare moment of legal change and, as a lawyer working on environmental claims, I care deeply about and am interested in how best to capitalise on this moment and contribute ideas to environmental campaigns advocating for the UK to manage its withdrawal from the ECT in the most sustainable and effective way possible.
