Biography
I am an artist specialising in co-creating theatre with communities based in north-east England. I am particularly interested in working with individuals who have limited access to the arts and strive to promote better accessibility through a participant-led approach.
I am Director and Co-founder of TimbaDash Theatre, a theatre company specialising in creating immersive sensory experiences for young people with additional needs. I am also Director and Co-founder of Woven Nest Theatre, a theatre company specialising in creating theatre with and for older people with dementia living in care homes. I am particularly interested in using sensory, non-verbal and immersive theatre techniques and how this can be used to facilitate moments of connection between individuals.
I seek to explore this work further through my Fellowship research with companies and individuals in Japan and Australia. I will use this learning to shape my future work with individuals and communities in north-east England and will share my findings with other organisations working within the sector across the UK.
