Biography
I am the Founder of human, kind. - an educational initiative working to create a dedicated school subject centred around emotional intelligence, mental health understanding and what it means to be human. My Fellowship focuses on understanding how schools can embed wellbeing as a core part of education. I will visit various countries to learn from societies that have made wellbeing systemic - whether through curriculum, culture or a shared national philosophy.
I came to this work through a combination of lived experience, academic opportunity and exposure to inspiring people. At school, I navigated systems that weren't designed to help young people flourish, but through an MPhys thesis on mental health and becoming a member of Mission 44's Youth Advisory Board - where I met young people walking their own paths - I became convinced that building the case for this work mattered more than following a traditional route. Through this Fellowship, I hope to bring back the insights that make that vision credible: helping more young people have the capacity to dream, and to pursue those dreams.
