Biography
I am a director of Unicorn Markets CIC which runs Bathgate Market. The market benefits local traders, community regeneration and social inclusion. In my final year studying business at university, I completed a university project on Corporate Social Responsibility and business plans for social enterprises, which inspired the project. I went on to launch the market after my graduation, giving a platform to many local microbusinesses and bringing life back into the small town.
There is a lot to learn from the models of more established markets, including how they best benefit their local communities and overcome challenges. I intend to learn from them and apply my knowledge to the markets I am already running.
