I work for the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service as the manager of Historic and World Heritage. I manage a team that supports the governance arrangements for three World Heritage properties. As part of this role, I have worked to support and improve First Nations' representation in the management of World Heritage properties.

My Fellowship looked at the social, economic and environmental sustainability of World Heritage properties in the United States, Guatemala and Mexico. My Fellowship interest was the impact of tourism on World Heritage properties and on the local economies.

As a direct result of the Fellowship, I continued my studies in World Heritage issues and completed both an MA and PhD in Australia. I have worked as a World Heritage specialist for both the Australian and New South Wales governments, and as an international heritage consultant. This work has contributed to best-practice conservation of World Heritage values.

The Churchill Fellowship allowed me to pursue an interest in World Heritage management, which developed into a career in the identification, protection, conservation and presentation of World Heritage properties.
