I'm an early years creative consultant, researcher, author and trainer. I also work directly in schools as an artist educator.
My Fellowship was centred around researching best practice in woodwork within early childhood education. I'm the Founder of the Big Bang Project, which evolved following my Fellowship. This advocates for woodwork in education and undertakes research. I'm a leading authority on woodwork in early years education and have written several journal articles and books, including Learning Through Woodwork (Routledge).
I'm an honorary research fellow at the University of Bristol researching creative and critical thinking in early years, regularly presenting research at international conferences. I deliver training for early education and work both nationally and overseas. I was awarded a national award (2019) from the Creative Learning Guild for my work promoting creativity in education. I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
