The Congo River Expedition 2008
Encouraging outward bound activities in young people by making the first solo descent down the River Congo
2008
East of England
I work as an outdoor pursuits instructor and development tutor. My Fellowship was about exploration and adventure. The aim was to be the first person to canoe the Congo River from source to sea, and then return to inspire others to follow their aspirations.
I believe we can all do more than we think we can, we just need motivation and inspiration. Since my trip, I have worked as a canoe coach, mountain coach, leadership trainer and development facilitator.
