Biography
I'm a project manager working on homelessness, migrants' rights and protection related issues. During my Fellowship, I plan to spend time with communities and projects which are developing radical, innovative approaches to mental health care. I will explore the ways in which these groups have moved away from dependence and reliance on state support and have instead developed innovative solutions to both self and community care.
I intend to learn from these models and think through how we could implement community-based solutions to support isolated asylum seekers and refugees in the UK, who are at a disproportionately higher risk of suicide.
I'm interested in collective care and I believe that we are all interconnected. I also believe that through strengthening communities, and by building self-resilience and collective resilience, we are better equipped to challenge oppression and injustice.
