March 2026 Fellows' update: Patrick Vernon

Sarah Yardley (CF 2024) has shared and presented her Churchill Fellowship research across academic, policy, and, practice settings.
She was featured in a UCL news article highlighting her Fellowship report on palliative care for people with complex mental health needs, drawing on her findings and calling for more relational, inclusive approaches to care.
Her report was also shared with the Mental health and wellbeing in Advanced Illness Network (MAIN).
Her research was further disseminated through an abstract published by the BMJ and shared at the Palliative Care Congress, and presentations at the Bristol Palliative and End of Life Care Research Network and the Manchester Global Foundation.
Finally, she published a blog with the Southcentral Foundation (one of the organisations that hosted her during her Fellowship) reflecting on her learning from the Nuka System of Care and the role of relationship-centred models in practice.
