National Creative Learning Award won by Churchill Fellow

Awards Judge Sarah Cressall, Founder & Managing Director of The Creation Station, said: “Pete Moorhouse is passionate about making a positive impact through all areas of his work to nurture creativity. Pete demonstrates a proactive approach to providing resources and opportunities for adults and children to develop their creative skills. With a focus on developing a greater understanding of the impact of creativity, Pete’s research work will continue to be a force for good on our society.” 

In 2018 Pete was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to travel to Finland, New Zealand, Sweden and the U.S.A to research best practice in woodwork in early childhood education. He is an artist educator and works with many local authorities and schools around the country to provide early years training.

The awards are organised by The Creative Learning Guild a charity based in Yorkshire that supports the grassroots creative learning movement across the UK. As Managing Director of The Creative Learning Guild, Gilly Bryerley, explains: “These new awards are designed to shine a spotlight on the efforts and achievements of the unsung heroes fighting for creative learning.”
